Before you install

Check the program page before you book. The NB Power pages we read did not give us a conditions list we can quote,. Read your program here, checked Oct 22, 2026:

Federal condition, from canada.ca, read Oct 22, 2026: "Although the Rebate does not open until early 2027, the retroactivity period for the National Heat Pump Rebate starts on November 1, 2026. This means that households that meet the program's eligibility criteria and install eligible heat pumps starting on November 1, 2026, will be able to apply for the Rebate once the program launches early in 2027." The criteria, the eligible list and the rebate amounts are published only as of November 1, 2026. We have not read them yet.

Landlords and investors

NB Power's Rental Owners Rebate Program says landlords are eligible. We could not confirm that it covers heat pumps, or the amount, so read the program page first, checked Oct 22, 2026.

The Enhanced Energy Savings Program is for homeowners. The Total Home Energy Savings page does not state a landlord rule. We have not found one.

Tenant? Send this page to your landlord. The rebates above go to owners.

What to do before 2027

  1. Pick the program first, then the heat pump type. The type sets the amount.
  2. Ask NB Power's program page what must happen before the install, and keep that answer.
  3. Join the waitlist to hear when the federal portal opens. No installation date is promised.
