This page explains what Heat Pumps Rebate collects when you use the rebate checker and join the waitlist. It also says what we use it for and how to reach us about it.
Last updated: October 28, 2026.
Canada's federal private-sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applies to how we handle personal information. Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) applies to the messages we send. This page describes what we do. It is not legal advice.
The rebate checker asks for:
- your postal code;
- what you heat with now: oil, propane, electric, natural gas or something else;
- whether you live in the place, rent it out or rent it;
- whether your household income is below, above or not sure about the median.
At the end, the waitlist form asks for:
- your name;
- your mobile number;
- your email address;
- whether you ticked the box to hear from us when the federal rebate opens and for occasional rebate news.
When you send the form, it also includes the page you sent it from and how you found the site, for example the link or ad that brought you here.
We use your details to contact you about this request. We do not use them for anything else.
The marketing box is separate, optional and unticked unless you tick it. We send the rebate-opening notice and rebate news only if you ticked it, and you can stop them at any time.
Your estimate is worked out in your browser. The amounts you see are not stored or sent to us.
We use your details to:
- tell you what rebates may apply to your home, as an estimate;
- contact you about your waitlist request;
- quote and plan an installation, if you ask us to;
- send the rebate-opening notice and rebate news, only if you ticked that box.
Details you send through this website are stored with our customer relationship system provider, which we use to read and answer your request. The companies that run our website and our phone and messaging service handle information for us so these things work.
By sending the form you agree that we may contact you about this request, by email, phone or text. That is all that agreement covers. Marketing messages need your separate tick, and every one of them has a way to unsubscribe. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
FLAG analytics: The site uses Google Analytics 4, from Google LLC, through Google Tag Manager. It records the pages you view, how you found the site and which buttons you use, such as starting the checker or sending the form. It also records your type of device and browser. It does not receive your name, mobile number, email or anything you type into the checker or form. Google may process this data outside Canada.
To block it, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use a tracker blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any of them. To stop texts, reply STOP. To stop anything else, tell us by email or phone.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask to withdraw your consent, or ask for your details to be deleted. Contact us:
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
